Late 1940's early 1950’s Gold Mesh Whiting & Davis "My Rosary" Beggars Purse
Vintage Whiting & Davis gold metal "mesh" articulated gate style top, beggars bag, personal rosary keeper. Pink satin hand stitched interior lining, with original tag. Top has a hinged metal flip cap lid that closes securely over the bag when retracted and closed. Whether you have a cross to bear or simply prefer to use this lovely lady for jewelry storage when you travel, or to win the award for the chicest coin purse around, you'll always be able to find her in a dark bag in an even darker bar or club, as she catches the light and shines for you. These were first made in a larger handbag version in the 1930’s and then smaller versions were made up until the late 1950’s.

Measures 3" long x 2 1/2" across the bottom. Accordion opening is 7/8" when closed and expands to 2 1/2”
Good vintage condition. Gold mesh and lid are bright and shiny although this piece has some wear and tarnish on the bottom from use.
